What is Rediscovering Worship?

Let’s define the problem… We know our lives are always getting more complicated and fractured. We might even sense that something has been lost in all the noise. For the community of God, worship has always been one of the places we set the world aside and enter God’s presence. Yet many times, and this isn’t just a modern problem, people have brought their competing commitments into the church. While we tend towards distraction, I believe there is a voice calling us home.

One of my favorite visions of worship comes from the book of Isaiah…

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Isaiah 60:1-3 (NIV)

On Rediscovering Worship, I will be seeking to uncover the heart of a God who wants to reveal himself to us. Follow this blog if you want to endeavor with me to dig up the practices and wisdom that reorients our passions towards a holy God. Together let’s Rediscover Worship!

About Zak

Hey friends! I’m Zak Kratzer. I led worship for the first time in college in 2006 and I have been passionately pursuing the practices of worship and leadership ever since. I have about one year left to go in my seminary program and I love helping the community of God learn how to engage with the story of God for the Glory of God.

I live in Kentucky with my wife Kara. We got married on the beach in 2015. She truly is the better half in this equation. We love nerdy board games, hiking and all kinds of coffee.
